Double Triumph For Tommy Wilson In The Gents Championship Qualifying

It was a double triumph for Tommy Wilson in the gents championship qualifying event played over 36 holes on Saturday 9th June. With the course a little "fiery" from the recent spell of dry weather, low scores were at a premium, with both rounds posting a CSS of 72 (one more than the SSS). However, with exceptional rounds of 72 (net 70) and 71 (net 69), Tommy won both the Millar of Falkirk and Lindsay Cooper trophies for lowest gross and lowest net scores.

Spare a thought, however, for Ross Kane who missed out on both trophies by the narrowest a margins - a better 2nd round for Tommy. Congratulations Tommy on your success and commiserations to Ross. And good luck to the two of you (and all the other 14 qualifiers) in the championship matchplay stage.
