Glenbervie has quality and class written all over it, from the superbly appointed clubhouse across the entire glorious parkland which James Braid has - again - ingeniously used in his creation, right into the Professional's Shop.

Incredibly, those are not our words - just one of the many praises heaped on our course over the years.

Best holes
The long 407 yard 14th, played slightly uphill and generally against the wind, is a great par 4. If the drive fails for any reason, forget par. Even if it is good, a long second demands accuracy, particularly if the flag is on the top tier of the sloping green. The clubhouse overlooks - and mocks - many efforts at securing par!

The 6th (401 yards) is a hole of two halves; uphill from the tee, requiring the drive to be of decent length and straight to avoid bunkers (left) and heavy rough (right) - not to mention the second being blocked out by high trees at the

top of the hill. The second is invariably played blind over the brow of the hill and down to a well-bunkered and undulating green.

Most difficult hole
The 9th (Bluebell Wood) is a 436 yard dog-legged par 4 demanding a drive (uphill) to avoid out of bounds in trees all down the right and to land in a position which affords a view down the hill to a well-guarded sloping green, still with out of bounds on the right!
